Not only are we called to KNOW JESUS, but we also believe we are called to BE JESUS. Because what we do Monday through Saturday is as important as what we do Sunday, we strive to love and serve our neighbors both here and abroad.

Alpha GR is a ministry that provides medical, educational, and material support to parents that are experiencing unplanned pregnancies. They not only promote the sanctity of life, but also help come alongside men and women in the effort to raise children. Every July, we do a church-wide diaper drive to support Alpha with diapers to use throughout the entire year. Click here for more information about Alpha.

North End Community Ministry (NECM) is located right here in our corner of the city. They have a multitude of services, from food pantries, to Supper House, and the NE Pole Toy Store at Christmas time. Every December we do a toy drive and send teams to go and serve at the NE Pole Toy Store. We also have teams that regularly serve in the food pantry / supper house. Youth For Christ specifically works to reach middle and high school students for Jesus. They run various clubs + programs at schools all across West Michigan. YFC’s Executive Director, Dan Kregel, is a part of our Berkley Family. We support a full-time missionary with YFC, as well as have various opportunities to support Northview’s YFC in things like serving breakfast and providing resources for events. Northview Next is a Learning Center within Northview Public Schools that provides varies services from tutoring, mentors, social/emotional support, and job services, with the goal of seeing every student successfully graduate High School regardless of their circumstances description. This is a ministry of NECM that aims to see families in NE Grand Rapids be able to get affordable Christmas gifts during the holidays. Stay tuned for more information and ways you can serve in November + December.

Greek InterVarsity is a ministry that aims to see college students in fraternities and sororities come to know and follow Jesus. From running Bible studies in frat houses, to hosting worship events on public campuses all over the country, Greek IV is doing some really special work in the next generation. Degage is a ministry in downtown Grand Rapids that “offers hope and opportunity to those facing homelessness and poverty in our community”. They offer emergency shelter services, as well as educational and empowerment programs. We partner with Degage in various ways, and take a team of people on the 4th Sunday evening of every month to help serve dinner at the shelter. Dave is a missionary through Global Partners, which is the Wesleyan Church’s global missions organization. Dave is currently overseas in an undisclosed location working to build connections, make disciples, and plant churches in an area that has a < 1% Christian population. Becki Dykstra grew up here at Berkley Hills, and is the daughter of one of our staff members, Janine Conway. In 2023, Scot and Becki felt a call from the Lord to step away from their medical practice and move their lives to Japan to be full-time missionaries.

We are taking a trip with Paradise Bound to Guatemala from January 4-11, 2026. We will be building houses, running medical clinics + a VBS, as well as getting to share the Gospel with people in Guatemala.

We have been in partnership with Starfysh since their origins in 2010, specifically working to be the hands and feet of Jesus in Haiti through the three main pillars of Agriculture, Education, and Community Health. We currently are unable to make trips to Haiti, but we have taken teams in the past and hope to again in the near future..
