Director of Worship

We believe that worship is one of the most important things we do as followers of Jesus. With that, our goal as a worship ministry is to offer up a musical sacrifice that is “holy and pleasing” to Christ with excellence and a high level of expectation. In an effort to equip the body of Christ to authentically worship Him Monday through Saturday (in addition to Sunday mornings), we regularly create spaces where God can come and encounter people freely. We wholeheartedly pray that rather than songs or a sermon, the Holy Spirit would be the “most definable feature” of this church.

Expectations:

WORSHIP LEADERS :

● Experience leading worship on a worship team highly encouraged

● Sensitivity to the Spirit in order to lead spontaneous worship.

● Ability to play/sing with a click.

SINGERS:

● Experience singing harmony and melody on a worship team is highly encouraged.

● Must be able to hear and sing both high and low harmonies by ear or willing to learn

● Have a great sensitivity to timing (understanding when to sing and when not to sing).

● Ability to sing with a click.

MUSICIANS:

● Must be able to play using a chord chart

● Must be able to play in all keys and transpose (without a transpose button on a piano) or currently be working toward that level of skill

● Sensitivity to the room, leaders, and most importantly the Spirit (dynamics)

● Must be able to play with a click track

● Keys: Ability to play pads and keys, not classical only. Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn MIDI using Mainstage and loops.

● Piano : Ability to play more classical style and learn lead lines / sheet music rather than chord charts.

● Drums: Must be able to play well with a click track.

● Electric Guitar: Ability to play lead lines, parts, rhythm and fill space with great tone and sensitivity.

● Bass: Ability to “lock in” with the drummer and ability to play dynamically.

● Strings or Horns: Ability to play on a contemporary worship team. Ability to play lead lines and fill space with very good tone and sensitivity.

TECH MINISTRY:

● Slides: Must be able to dial in / focus for the entire service and operate well under pressure.

● Sound Board: Must have an ear for sound mixing, understand / be willing to learn sound system, and operate well under pressure. General feel for music is important.

● Video: Must understand flow of service and be able to frame camera shots correctly.

EXPECTATIONS :

● Committed to spiritual growth (regularly attending church at least 3x / month, in a group, regularly in the word and prayer at least 4x / week, etc.)

● Committed to musical excellence (coming to rehearsals prepared spiritually and musically)

● Attend midweek practice (Wednesdays 6 - 7:30 pm)

● Punctuality + communication are a must!
