My Testimony
When I was growing up my family and I attended a Lutheran church, usually on Easter Sunday and Christmas Eve. God, Jesus, and the Bible were talked about in our home but I wasn't really sure about any of them. We had a picture of Jesus on our living room wall and I remember many times looking up at Jesus and wondering "who are you".
When I got married I attended the Catholic Church with my husband. For many years I never really felt a connection with the Catholic religion. I would often leave church without a complete understanding of what the message was about. I wanted to walk out of church and feel like I wanted to be a better Christian. To have a message that encouraged me to be a better person, more caring, more giving, less judgmental, etc.
Eventually we stopped attending the Catholic Church and I would watch Charles Stanley on TV every Sunday. I really enjoyed listening to him and many Sundays he would have a message which would really make me think. I tried different churches and never really felt a connection with any of them.
My daughter was very involved with Campus Life through Northview Schools. a friend from Campus Life invited her to go to church with her at Berkley Hills. Every Sunday my daughter would get up and was very excited to go to church. I thought there must be something to this church if she is so excited to go to church. I went to church with her one Sunday and instantly was connected. I looked forward to coming every Sunday. Pastor Kyle got my attention every week and I would leave each time wanting to be a better follower of Christ. I loved the message he would have and would think of it often throughout my week. I felt welcome at Berkley Hills from the very beginning.
The picture that hung on the wall in my home as I was growing up now hangs on the wall in my home. When I look at this picture today I know Jesus so much more. I know he died on the cross for me and he has blessed me with so much throughout my life. I am confident the the home I have found in Berkley Hills is going to help me accomplish the relationship I desire to have with Jesus Christ.
