KREW – Parents and Leaders Working Together

We believe that if parents and church leaders work together we can have a greater impact on the next generation. The Light of the Church (yellow) working with the love of a parent (red) can create a child on fire for God (orange). We are stronger together. One way we can work together is to synchronize our efforts. Parent Pages for Preschoolers and God Time/Fridge Cards for elementary students are designed to do just that.  If you did not get a copy of the God Time Card, Fridge Card or Preschool Parent page this week and would like a copy, please email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. What to Expect When You Arrive?

At KREW, we take our job of caring for your children very seriously. Our volunteers are carefully selected, screened and trained. When you arrive at church you will find blue signs throughout the church to direct you to the children's ministry area, as well as greeters who would love to help you find your way. Our check-in station is labeled with a tall yellow KREW sign to grab your attention. At the station we check in all children 18 months old – 3rd grade. Each child receives an orange name tag and each parent receives a red tag. The tags will have matching numbers. When you pick up your child at the end of the service, you will need your red tag to pick up your child. If you have more than one child, you will leave the red tag with the leader of the last child you pick up.

Nursery age children (birth – 18 months) are checked in inside the nursery. At the Nursery counter, you will receive a numbered angel tag for your child and one for you. Both have matching numbers. You will need the angel tag to pick up your child at the end of the service. All of your child's belongings will need to be labeled. There is masking tape if you should need it. You will be greeted by the volunteers who will be caring for you child. Any special instructions can be given verbally and in writing at our check in counter. A digital number board is located in our sanctuary on the wall to the right of the stage. If your child needs you, your number will light up.

What Will My Child Do in KREW?

Nursery
Our nursery is brightly painted like a castle garden. There are toys for all ages and stages, music for singing, books for reading and glider rockers for comfort. It is our goal to make church a place even our youngest members want to go.

Preschool
Our preschoolers are divided into two groups; 18 Months - Two Year Olds and Three & Fours. They attend a lively bible story and song time led by a creative team of students. Characters like Eddie the Engine and Ollie Octopus help bring the bible to life for young minds. Their adult leaders accompany the children to our story room and then bring them back to our classrooms to play a game, make a craft and have a snack that all relate to the story of the day. Each child gets a sticker with the bible words of the day written on it and a parent page to help the learning continue at home.

Elementary
Here's what we focus on:
Faith -Trust God no matter what
Knowledge – Make wise choices
Friendship – Treat others the way I want to be treated
Truth – The Bible is our foundation

Here's how we teach it:
Interactive large group teaching
Small Group activities and games
Creative leaders and guest speakers

Taking it to the streets!
There's more to serving God than just learning about Him. We believe kids can actively participate in God's plan. That's why we provide regular opportunities to serve. Families are always encouraged to join us. Past trips have included: birthday parties for kids at Mel Trotter, making and delivering fruit to the firefighters, care packages for college students and cookies to our senior citizens.

Snack Information
Because food allergies can be dangerous for many children, we choose to serve these basic snacks: cheerios, fruit snacks, graham crackers and fish crackers. Only water is served. There are times when a special snack is used and those snacks are published at the KREW check in station. If a child in our program has a food allergy, the offending food is NEVER served in our building. We want to help your child have a safe experience at KREW, so if you have any concerns please contact Chris Augustat at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
