What is a Growth Group?

A Growth Group is a group of 8-12 people who meet on a regular basis. Usually they meet in someone's home, but occasionally at church, in a coffee shop, or elsewhere. They offer close relationships, Bible study, prayer support, and opportunities to live life together. They provide the sharing, accountability and encouragement most of us need in order to grow deeper in our walk with Christ.

What is the difference between a small group and a Growth Group?

A Growth Group is a small group. At Berkley we choose to call our small groups Growth Groups because we want our people to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and in their relationship with other Christ Followers.

Why have Growth Groups?

We have Growth Groups so people can grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and experience life with other Christ Followers. We want people to love and be loved, know and be known, serve and be served, and celebrate and be celebrated. Jesus modeled this as He chose twelve men to be His closest companions and friends. We also read about the early church flourishing as people chose to participate in life with each other.

Why should we join a Growth Groups when we are already so busy?

"Growth groups are a place to be refreshed and replenished rather than one more draining item on our agenda. This time in community becomes a priority as we realize we are not in this life alone, but need others to live life together with us.
